Knoxville Catholic High School is pleased to announce the hiring of Josh Martin as the new head girls’ soccer coach.
Coach Martin comes to Knox Catholic after seven seasons as Head Men’s and Women’s Coach at TC Roberson High School in Asheville, NC. As head men’s coach, his teams have an overall record of 111-32-13 and won 5 conference titles. As head women’s coach, his teams have an overall record of 88-23-3 and won 3 conference titles, one Region Title (Final Four) in 2018, and were state runner up in 2018. Coach Martin has numerous Conference Coach of the Year awards and was named 2018 State Girls Coach of the Year.
Coach Martin graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan in 2002 after a four-year playing career. He currently serves as Vice President of the North Carolina High School Soccer Coaches Association and holds a USSF D License. He has 19 years of experience as both a head coach and assistant coach at the club, high school, and college level.
Coach Martin said, “Leaving TC Roberson was one of the hardest decisions of my life but the opportunity to lead the Knox Catholic program while being close to family was the absolute right decision. I'm beyond excited to build on what this program has done in the past, and mold it into one that competes for state championships. We will represent Catholic on and off the field in a way that will make our community proud and build excitement for future players. I cannot wait to land in Knoxville and look forward to immersing myself in the community. Go Irish!”
